Georgia man in custody following DUI charges

A Cartersville man is in custody following an accident police believe to have been predicated by intoxication, according to reports made available to local media. The 25-year-old Georgia man was in jail as of Jan. 14 after an accident that caused serious injury to two people in his vehicle. He now faces DUI charges as well as felony counts of serious injury by vehicle. So far, his trial date has not been made public.

Two people were hurt following a crash police believe was caused by a drunk driver, according to local sources. The Georgia State Patrol responded to the accident on the afternoon of Dec. 15 in Gainesville. One of the two drivers involved now faces DUI charges in connection with the crash.

Georgia man faces DUI charges

A man accused of hitting a police officer has been charged with drunk driving, according to local sources. The 44-year-old man allegedly struck a Georgia State Patrol trooper with his vehicle in the early morning of Nov. 6. He now faces DUI charges as well as several other criminal accusations. A media report did not indicate when the matter is expected to be heard in court. 

Georgia city council member faces DUI charges

A city council official in Cartersville is facing serious charges, but was able to avoid immediate time in jail, according to local sources. Georgia authorities arrested the man in the early morning of Nov. 5 on suspicion of drunk driving. He now faces DUI charges, but he signed an ROR bond that allowed him to be released from custody. An ROR, or "released on your own recognizance" bond, is a signed agreement that allows the defendant to go free but guarantees he or she will appear at later court proceedings.
